What is a Speech Language Pathologist?

A Speech Language Pathologist (Speech therapist) holds a master's degree and is educated in the assessment and treatment of speech, language and feeding/swallowing development and disorders. They are accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association and hold Certificates of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP). They are trained to differentiate between what is normal, what will resolve on its own, and what necesitates therapy.

If your child is exposed to more than one language, it is very important and necessary that a Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist evaluate your child.
